Provided by Iron Rock Sailing Club adjacent to the Xiamen Asia Gulf Hotel

Dates & Times:
Session I: August 8- August 20
Session II: August 22- September 3
Morning: 9:30-12, Afternoon 2-4:30- This setup can handle 15 kids in theĀ morning and 15 more kids in the afternoon (so 30 kids total during 1 Session period)
Days Off: Each Monday in August (August 7, 14, 21, 28)
There is an option to add in a third Session which would be from August 15-August 27 if there is enough interest.

Program Overview (methodology):
The first few days of each program are used to teach Sailing Theory and the basics of "righting a boat", "launching a boat" and "Rigging a boat". Youth are also taught the importance of safety. Once the youth are familiar with this they are on the water sailing in no time.
  • 2 trips per Session in morning or afternoon to visit a local boat manufacturer- Red Dragon (David Winter has agreed to this).
  • 1 morning or afternoon spent picking up trash along beach or harbour- learning about clean water environment
  • 1 morning or afternoon learning about each Olympic Boat Class sailed in the Olympic Games
  • 1 morning or afternoon making arts/crafts/boat models/navigational flags.
  • Many days as possible should end with a regatta for the kids to practice racing and to have fun. On the 12 th day of the sessionĀ a final regatta and BBQ is held for the graduating class.

Tuition:
700 RMB for 12 days of NOCSP Sail Training
Registered or Sponsored Orphans do not pay Tuition
