History
In 2005, Qingdao was the inaugural NOCSP program teaching over 35 kids to sail.
2006
In 2006 NOCSP taught over 130 kids in 4 operational NOCSP programs throughout China.
- Qingdao , in partnership with Zou Inter Marine & the Qingdao Sports Bureau
- Rizhao, in partnership with the Rizhao Sports Bureau
- Shanghai , in partnership with the Saimeng Water Sports Club
- Xiamen, in partnership with Iron Rock Sailing Club
Future
When NOCSP started in 2005, CYBP looked to establish a national network of schools over a 3 year period within ISAF - Connect to Sailing's Connect-to-Sailing Program format. By 2008, the NOCSP will have taught sailing to more than 1,000 Chinese youth from various socio-economic backgrounds.
Objectives:
- Teach 1,000 Chinese Youth how to sail prior to the 2008 Olympic Games
- Establish a national footprint of community & youth sail training centers
- Provide China Yachting Association a platform to select future competitive sailors
